When, where, how?

The Department of European and International Development (DDEI) is honored to host a series of informal events once a month called "Brown Bag Lunch International" or BBLI. BBLIs are free to attend, but an RSVP is required via the form below.
Held on the first Tuesday of each month (and occasionally other dates), these gatherings will begin at 12:30 and end promptly at 14:00 in the Salon d’honneur of the Cnam.
Everyone (except the presenter, informally known as the "bagger") is welcome to bring their own lunch, and the DDEI provides an assortment of soft drinks, coffee and maybe more...
The BBLI provides an informal opportunity for a bagger, an honorary guest speaker chosen among the Cnam’s professors and visiting professors, to present key work, projects or new ideas to the audience. The Cnam’s international students, adult learners, doctoral students, interns and staff are all encouraged to join the conversation, ask questions and provide their feedback.

From 11 to 16 April, the Cnam will welcome 45 students and professors from 5 European countries - Finland, Lithuania, Hungary, the Netherlands, Italy and Austria - for the "Springschool 2022": an intensive week of seminars, artistic workshops (dance and photography) and visits to places and organizations in the cultural and creative industry (CCI). The theme of the week: "Innovation ecosystems of the creative industries".

This Spring school is developed and supervised by Anne Berthinier-Poncet, lecturer in innovation management at the Cnam, and her colleagues from EPN16 Innovation. It is part of the European Erasmus + ArtIST project in which the Cnam has been a partner since January 2020. Based on an innovative pedagogical approach STE(A)M, the objective of this project is to develop Master modules that integrate Art in the teaching of innovation management and entrepreneurship.

During this week, students will discover the challenges of Art Thinking and the development opportunities within the extremely rich innovation ecosystem that the city of Paris offers for the cultural and creative industries. Visits to places such as the Gaîté Lyrique, the Cent Quatre and its incubator 104 Factory, Paris & Co and the LINCC will illustrate these issues. We will also discuss the new business models of these CCIs, with in particular an exceptional visit to Ubisoft and its studios, but also the presence throughout the week of an artistic coach from Cirque du Soleil (Canada). Finally, the memory and history of innovation will also be in the spotlight with a visit to the museum of Arts & Crafts and the museum of fairground arts. In addition to the talks by experts and visits to inspiring places, Art and artistic practice will be at the heart of this week as our students will be able to express and develop their creativity, their curiosity, their critical and divergent thinking, and their innovation, through several workshops - dance, creative movement, photography, curiosity - which will culminate in the creation and representation of a collective performance on the last day.

Why studying Mechanics of structures?

Mechanics of structures investigates the behavior of structures under mechanical loads, such as bending of a beam, buckling of a column, torsion of a shaft, deflection of a thin shell, and vibration of a bridge. Mechanics of structures is focused on the computation of deformations, deflections, and internal forces or stresses (stress equivalents) within structures, either for design or for performance evaluation of existing structures. It is one subset of structural analysis. Structural mechanics analysis needs input data such as structural loads, structure's geometric representation and support conditions but also the materials' properties. Output quantities may include support reactions, stresses and displacements. Advanced structural mechanics may include the effects of stability and non-linear behaviors.

Career opportunities

With the Master's degree in Structural Mechanics and Coupled System, Students will be able in one or two years to quickly obtain the best positions in the competitive industries in areas such as:

Transportation (Safran, Thales)
Automation, Energy generation (GE)
Aerospace (Airbus, Ariane group, Naval group)
Research laboratories in mechanical engineering (LMSSC)

Positions held within the industry could be as follows:

Structural engineer
Structural analyst
Research engineer
PhD in public and private research organizations

Why choosing Cnam to study Mechanics of structures?

This new advanced degree will prepare students them with the in-depth, modern instruction and skills they need to compete in their future career either in the industries or in research.

Once graduated, the student will be able to:

Provide the best references of the industrial and academic state of the art to those, who work in the fields related to structural engineering in the context of multidisciplinary design;

Erasmus plus - MIC Tunisia - Testimonials of our international students at Cnam

The Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility (MIC) program was created by the European Commission in 2015 and aims to promote international exchanges with higher education institutions outside Europe. In 2020, the MIC Tunisia and the MIC Russia project of the Cnam has been selected. Thanks to Erasmus+ grants, more than 20 students come from Tunisia to follow Master program courses and study at different research laboratories of the Cnam in Paris. Here are some of their testimonials.

The overal experience is amazing. Paris is like a new world to me. In six months, I think I have met people from all over the world, from different countries, from different cultures. With my friends, I get to learn new things and learn to be independent. Without this program, I would not meet all these wonderful people. The classes are taught in English, which helps me a lot to improve my English. I have the opportunity to practice what I have learned in the projects, which is very helpful.

One of the highlights of the program was the cultural exchange that I had with people from different parts of the world. The program provided me with an opportunity to meet people from various countries, learn about their cultures, and exchange ideas with them.
In addition, the program organized various cultural activities and visits to museums and cultural centers, which allowed me to learn about the rich history and art of Paris. These activities not only provided me with an opportunity to explore the city but also gave me a chance to bond with my fellow program participants and make new friends.

One of the things that impressed me the most about the Erasmus+ program was the emphasis on academic growth. I had the opportunity to attend lectures and seminars at the Conservatoire national des arts et métiers (CNAM), which helped me expand my knowledge and learn from world-class experts.

123 graduates received the DGUT Benke diploma, the Chinese Bachelor Degree and the Cnam "Licence" Degree
96% success rate for this first class (1st among the 18 DGUT institutes)
95% of the graduates have signed a work contract with French or Chinese companies, or received a Master's degree offer (also 1st among the 18 DGUT institutes)
13 graduates will pursue a Master's degree at Cnam Paris
10 have been accepted by world TOP 100 universities, such as PSL, Hongkong Chinese University, Hongkong City University, University of Leeds, University of Sheffield ...

Our graduates now join the Cnam Alumni community and the DGUT Alumni community. They will contribute to the Franco-Chinese friendship and develop the commercial and cultural exchanges between France and China.

The Eurocall conference website

Technology - the new mediator of learning - has both revolutionised the way we learn languages and created a sense of urgency in the need to modernise the initial and ongoing training of today’s and tomorrow’s professionals.

As a result, by focusing on research, technological development and innovation, this conference will explore the potential of technology and of the expansion of educational opportunities in foreign languages to provide a basis for addressing the current issues both higher education and the job market are facing in the 21st century.

Le XXVIIIème Colloque International EUROCALL (European Association for Computer Assisted Language Learning) est organisé par le Cnam & Sorbonne Université. La thématique privilégiée cette année est l’enseignement-apprentissage des langues dans ses liens avec le numérique et la professionalisation. Ce sera l’occasion d’explorer les questions vives qui se posent dans ce domaine à des fins d’employabilité dans un monde globalisé.

Les outils numériques – nouveaux médiateurs du savoir – ont à la fois révolutionné les modalités d’apprentissage des langues et engendré un besoin urgent de moderniser la formation initiale et continue des professionnels d’aujourd’hui et de demain.

Enjmin the graduate school of digital interactive games and media - Cnam's Enjmin has become a full member of the international Cumulus network

Scholarships 2022 - Laureats of the Cnam - Eiffel 2022 scholarships

393 scholarships were allocated by the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs for the academic year 2022: 344 for the Master's course and 49 for the Doctorate (PhD) course.

It allows training of future decision-makers of private and public sectors in the priority fields. It stimulates applications from students from emerging countries for the Master's level and from emerging and industrialized countries for the doctorate level.

In 2022, Cnam has 2 laureates, including 1 from Argentina, in the field of E-Business and Digital Marketing (Master in Management of EPN15) and 1 from Vietnam, in the field of Engineering and Engineering Sciences (Master in Computer Networks and IoT Systems of EPN05).

Catalogues of programs and projects : in France and abroad - Cnam international scope

The Cnam as a whole has decided to apply for Bienvenue en France label.

In this respect, new procedures have been put in place to guide candidates of foreign nationality along the essential steps to follow.

New documents available in English (video, welcome booklet, application form, information sheet), detailing:

- Administrative procedures for applying or settling down
- Organization of student life and orientation events
- Academic and administrative support
- Housing

The Cnam is connected on Études en France platform. Dematerialized applications are on the way to be generalized.
