
Inspector General of Education since 1985, he is a member of the Haut conseil de l'éducation (High Council of Education) since 2005. He chairs the board of Céreq (Centre for Studies and Research on Qualifications) and participates in the steering committee of the Institut Montaigne in 2004. In addition, he chairs the steering committee of the national conference on school timetables installed by the Minister of Education in June 2010.
Born December 8, 1944, an engineering graduate of INSA (Institut National des Sciences Appliquées) of Lyon, Doctor of Science, Christian Forestier has been Director of the IUT of Saint-Etienne (1976), Vice-Chairman and Chairman of University of Saint-Etienne (1974-1981).
He was appointed in 1981 rector of the Academy of Reims, and in 1984, rector of Dijon. In 1985, he entered the office of Secretary of State for Technical Education, Roland Carraz. Christian Forestier is an officer of the Legion of Honour and National Order of Merit, Commander of the Academic Palms, Chevalier du Mérite Agricole.
